In my today’s post, I am going to write about Remotasks.
Is this Artificial Intelligence platform legit, reliable, and profitable?
Or is it just another shiny looking object, how to attract more people without reasonable earnings?
Let’s check it in my today’s review!
What are you going to do working with Remotask?
The Remotasks is, as already mentioned an Artificial Intelligence platform, where you are going to complete different small tasks in order to get paid.
These vary in content as well as in difficulty. You don’t need to have prior experience to start, but there is training for each task, with the end test, which you are expected to pass.
Before I am going to provide the tasks available on the platform, some of you may be wondering, what is it the Artificial Intelligence? If you are a newbie in that field, I hope this would help.
When you are starting out you can start entering training in diverse topics.
As you can see below, some of them are categorisation, text highlighting, or transcription, which is basically rewriting what you heard from conversation played to you.
It can be a phone call, monolog or dialog of two persons.
More Difficult Tasks Within the Remotasks
If you want to be earning more from the beginning, you can start train yourself( or maybe you are skilled already) in the areas of 2D annotation or 3D annotation.
It is nothing you can’t learn, but it has higher requirements on detail, hence the higher earnings.
Those areas are also more suitable for those, who are more comfortable working with pictures, design, and graphics. The language tasks are mostly for people enjoying the lingual part.
As you will move with the program, finish some tasks, get skilled, you can even become a reviewer.
That basically means you can be the one judging other people’s work. The work and the earnings are here in a range of full-time basis.
For who is this platform?
The Remotasks is suitable for anyone, searching side hustle incomes, as well as for full-time, home-based position seekers (reviewer position).
A very good thing about it is that you don’t have to possess any specific knowledge prior to beginning. Obviously, if you are skilled in any related topics, as above mentioned, you have a big advantage.
You can plan the working hours, so this offers a portion of flexibility for homestay parents, or full-time workers.
PROS
- Flexibility
If you are searching for a time flexible job/business, you will find this perfect. You can decide your working hours.
A small problem can be, that the tasks are available not before set times. I will get to this later on. - Quick and cost-efficient start
Maybe not so interesting for everyone, but I am sure that is still a group of people, that is going to like this as well. As from my own experiences, almost everywhere I started to work I needed to back then, the “dream” job. - Forum like-minded individuals
I think it is great to have someone, who can help you with advice, in any place, especially at the beginning. Not someone from customer service, what you normally expect and all decent platform, should have, but someone more experienced and doing the same tasks like you. - Regular payments
You don’t have to wait 30 days to get paid, but as soon your account reaches $5, you can withdraw your earnings, at any time. The payments are done through PayPal.
CONS
- Availability of the tasks
As I wrote earlier, you can be flexible and decides when you want to work. The problem is that sometimes, there would be no task available for you and you have nothing to do. That means, it is harder for you to make any plans or programs, as you are not sure when your next job is available.
- Time limit
I hate to have time pressure on me while I am working. Maybe you are different and you don’t mind, but for me, it is just harder to concentrate and produce good quality work under time or pressure.
I think it is great, to give ourselves some time slots for work, otherwise, there is a huge risk, nothing will be done. But deadlines, where you have to perform, otherwise you will not get work, are something I don’t like.
There are some tasks, you have to finish in under 2 minutes of time, otherwise, you don’t earn anything for this particular task, and you can be easily banned from obtaining work in the future. - System issues
Together with insufficient customer service.
During my training for categorisation, the training has frozen up and I couldn’t continue.
On top of that, unlike Wealthy Affiliate, where the customer service is fast and helpful, the customer service of Remotasks was very slow in reply, plus they weren’t able to fix it even after a week!! - Low payments
While there are tasks where you can make a decent $3-$5 an hour, the easier one is going to earn you $0.01-$0.05/ task. Obviously, the more difficult the task and the more accurate your work is going to be, the more you earn. The earnings, therefore, range hugely, anywhere from $5-$140/week.
Please, bear in mind that, if you aiming for the highest end of the scale, you are going to be working somewhere around 8hrs/day. In my opinion, the relation between time invested and revenue is not sufficient.
Legit or SCAM?
From all what I wrote above, it should be clear, that Remotasks is not a SCAM.
You can earn some extra money next to your job/business.
However, I wouldn’t recommend that, if you are searching for full-time income online.
Or if you are searching for income, that would overcome your full-time salary, and income, that can be coming to you, even if you are sleeping. So-called passive income.

Remotasks reminds me of Survey Junkie, PrizeRebel, and Inbox Dollars, all programs that pay you minimal amounts of money for completing various tasks (watching videos, playing games, completing surveys, etc.). LIke Remotasks, all of these programs allow you to cash out via PayPal at a low threshold ($5, $10, and/or $30), and if you’re able to devote an entire day to them, you might be able to earn $20-$25 a day at the high end. However, as you alluded to, this is obviously not a sustainable income (just side change). Remotasks definitely fits this mold, as it’s legitimate, you can earn money from it, but you likely cannot live off of the earnings, unless you are a full-time reviewer (which is a HUGE plus). The fact that you can become a reviewer for Remotasks separates it from the other platforms I’ve mentioned-they don’t have any sort of “full-time” option. That’s awesome! Great read! God bless you!
Hi Carleta and thank you for leaving your comment and sharing your experiences too. I agree that it is on the same earning potential as online surveys, even though Remotask is not a one. Yeah to be earning some decent money, you would have to be a reviewer or get lucky to have project, after project, and to provide outstanding( but as well time-consuming) work. There are better ways to earn money online. And one of them is Wealthy Affiliate. I think this platform offers people the real chance to create a passive income. There are other sites that sound similar though, and they tend to not pay very well.
You’re right, you would have to put in many hours to get some decent pay, and even then, it doesn’t seem worth it.
I like your recommendation for starting a home business. At least the income can be very rewarding, especially if you’re willing to invest the time. I know many affiliate marketers who are making a full-time income from home.
