More than 80% of bloggers never make even $100 from their blog.
Those numbers were shocking to me, when I first saw them.
What are those people doing wrong?
In this post you’ll find techniques and tactics how to get attention on your blog posts and how to be “read” in 2021.
If you want to know how to master blogging you have to read this post.
Shall we?
Find Your Niche
It doesn’t necessary needs to be something you love. It can be something you can relate to, something you will be interested enough to get an expertise in.
That’s true.
What do you like to talk about? What are you good in? What are people asking you most to get help with?
Those are just suggestions, but could help you.
As mentioned earlier you could build your NICHE out of your interest, not necessary out of your knowledge.
That’s super important because, you can gain knowledge by studying.
On the other side, you can’t fake interest. Otherwise, you won’t reach out to the people. Believe it or not, people can smell from distance if you are being honest or just “pretend it”.
Grab Attention and Stand Out
In addition to this, you want to stand out with what you have to say and grab attention with it.
I don’t mean just through headlines and lead (even though this should be one of your focus).
I want to stress out the importance of the entire post being structured to stand out.
How?
By being unique.
How could you talk about topic in the way, it was never told? How would YOU like to read about topic if you would be reader?
Put yourself in readers shoes, because no one has the same view as YOURSELF.
Therefore, your content would be unique. Does it make a sense?
I hope yes.
Optimize for SEO
There’s often an approach I saw among some “blogging gurus” I wouldn’t recommend.
You should write with Love.
You see, I don’t talk about giving people high perceived value, as this should be obvious for every blogger.
But this approach is almost esoteric.
By the way, those “gurus” could write with LOVE in their mind, when they have 10k+ monthly visitors.
They won’t tell you about the hard work, they have done at the beginning. Because it is not fancy.
SEO is the hard work, but rewarding.
Think on Meta Description, Meta Title, Alt Text, and Keyword Placement as your 4 main pillars.
While this could be very technical for some at first sight. As much than you’ll practice it, as easier it will become. Plus, it will be the one autopilot you want to apply before you publish your blog post.
Especially, when you will see the results, this improvement will bring.
Share Your Content
Additional autopilot you can create is in Social Marketing.
Social MARKETING could be whatever tool that is set to share your awesome content. Once you picked up your nice, wrote about it, SEO optimized it, you want to world know about it, right?
Don’t be like Waldo Emerson, and hoping to be discovered. Let make it inevitable to be discovered!
Of course, your content would be discovered without social marketing as well, but it will take much longer.
Why not to speed up the process?
There are several social marketing strategies you can use.
Among the standard one there is Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest sharing.
Then there is video sharing on YouTube.
Furthermore, there are new ways, one to mention is Medium. Ads-free free space, some mix between social network and collaborative software, that will allow you gain bigger exposure.
Besides standard posting and sharing your content, you could use services like Jarvee, to help you in building social media presence and growing your followers.
Because, being honest, you just don’t have the time to build your audience and to reply EVERYONE, on your Facebook profile.
Especially, if you are one man business.
Never, Ever… Give Up!
There is over 7 million blog posts published every day.
So, to make a difference, to be read, it can be hard.
It will be hard. Especially, if you do solely SEO and free traffic and no ads.
Nevertheless, you have to see it from long term perspective. How long did it takes you to learn driving? Learn second language? How long it takes you to learn skills, required for your present job?
Whatever it was, it took you some TIME to learn it, right?
So do’t expect blogging be quicker, just because saw ad screaming:
How to make 7 figures with blogging in less than 30 days.
Instead, you want to make sure that you are :
- consistent – publish 2-5 post wekkly
- sticking with topic and the niche
- learning continuously – google algorithm updates, ads policies change, etc
…and NEVER GIVING UP.
You never know, when there’s the one post, that will make the difference and help you breakthrough.
How to master blogging?
As stated previously don’t expect immediate results if you want to know how to master blogging. Otherwise, you’ll be disappointed.
Successful blogging requires time.
I know it might sound easier, as when it has to be done, but trust me, when you just started your blog and it is not getting any attention, just be patient.
It is completely fine to have your post “without attention” for the first 3-6 months. As you will progress you will see people discovering your blog and if your content is helpful, people will return.
(FYI, the average age of blog in top 100 is 33.8 months)
If you would rush things up, you could make unnecessary mistakes, some very costly mistakes, along the way.
Instead, implement those 5 strategies I wrote about in my post.
Master them, if you will.
(Of course, as you proceed and make progress, you can and probably will find also new strategies, and that’s great)
But firstly, master those (most important ones) and then keep up the growth.
Let me know about your progress, I am super excited to hear from you.
Cheers
P.S. You can be wondering how much does it cost to start blogging. While there are different platforms, offering various options from cheaper to PREMIUM packages, I do believe starting blogging should be for free.
Especially, when starting out, you don’t have a huge capital to invest in something, you are not completely sure, it will be working.
Additionally, you don’t really need extensive themes, plugins and fancy layouts. Some of very successful guys in blogging, earning 6-7 figures with super simple website.
Hi, great article and really honest. I say this because you are not one of those who learn that blogging is quickly and extra profitable. I know that from my own experience. I am the owner of a site that I maintain regularly, I have SEO, I write texts regularly, but I have no income, even though months have passed. What you have pointed out is key – time and perseverance. In this business, the results are visible only after a long period of time, maybe years, but it is important not to give up. Thank you for reminding me of what matters most. I will definitely bookmarked this website so I can follow your tips which are very helpful.
Keep up an amazing work and all the best,
Danijela
Happy I could help Danijela. Not giving up is the motto.
Wow, 7 million blogs are published every day?? That’s a staggering number! Now it is clear why so much work goes into a blog and getting it noticed.
I share my blog posts on Twitter and Pinterest, but I’m not always consistent with Pinterest. I rarely use IG, I tried to make a habit of using it and for a while it was fine, but then I kept on forgetting to use it. I am active on YouTube, though. I just started a new channel there.
Do you know the percentage of bloggers who give up?
That’s huge number, isn’t it? If you have difficulties to stick with social posting (I know it can be annoying, especially if you are only one person taking care of your blog), there are some automation tools that can help you. For instagram, there is Jarvee showing some great results.
In 2009, it was noted, that 95% of blogs fail.
HI,
This is something I have been waiting for a very long time. Crisp and straightforward information was given with no difficulties in understanding. Each and every term is very well explained and I think the best one is consistency. Never ever give up is the most important thing when you choose to opt for this career of blogging.
I think not only in this but if you want something in life then consistency is something that will help you reach heights. SEO optimizing is the second most important point which is very well explained in an easier way. Thank you for bringing out this information. This is worth sharing!
Thanks
Cheers!
Hey there, I am super happy that you found the blog helpful. Consistency is indeed crucial factor determining your success.
This is interesting and encouraging to see that the average age of a blog post in 100, is 33.8 months, so that is nearly 3 years. Many people that start blogging, expect to have overnight success, and give up too soon. So it is good to see that you mention never to give up.
Blogging is hard work, and it takes time and effort, but can be very rewarding. SEO is very important if you want to beat the competition and rank. Anybody that wants to master blogging, will find your post very helpful-
Thank you for stopping by and leaving your comment, Line! Indeed, far too many people give up too soon. (Because of expectations of an immediate success). For people who will stay and overcome the hurdles, it is a great news. For those quitting, it would be shame.
I needed this article. As of lately, I have been struggling to gain traffic as I am struggling to find ways to stand out. This article came at exactly the right time. I have taken what you have said into consideration and I will apply it to my website. Hopefully I can gain more traffic. I will be sure to let you know how it goes

Definitely you should never give up!
Hi there. I am happy, I could help you to give some tips on improving your blogging.
This was a timely article for me, because I’ve been dabbling in blogging for quite a while, but up till now I’ve not really put the time in to make it successful. I have however exceeded that $100 mark. You have a lot of great advice in here that will definitely help me out, but I think the most important advice is the importance of perseverance. I tend to have boosts of energy, but up till now have not been as consistent as I need to be. I love the little never give up cartoon.
Happy I could give you some reminders Mike. Keep up the work and stay perseverant.
