Happy, you liked the comparison in my blog post. I think, they both require time to learn the skill. Some might see affiliate marketing easier, especially those who use “just” blogging as their main traffic source. On the other side, copywriting might seem easier, because you are using “just” words, while people doing more than blogging, will also see the complexity affiliate marketing has, when it comes to driving a traffic, keyword research, and competition research. As for difficulty, also the height of the earnings isn’t easily defined.  Would you work for big clients then copywriting can be super interesting. Vice versa, small client won’t be paying a lot. Affiliate Marketing is hard to get on track, but when you achieve constant traffic on your site, the sky is the limit. Also, affiliate marketing creates passive income and that’s the best that it can be. So, therefore many people prefer affiliate marketing.

In your opinion, what are the main distinctions between copywriting and affiliate marketing in terms of developing skills and making money?

To answer to your questions, I would be happy to point out in one of the paragraphs on how to learn copywriting. The  best strategy is really to read, take a course and then practice. There isn’t really any advice rather than that. I always advise people not to search for shortcut, as there is none.

The answer on your second question is much more complex. Copywriting is offering a lot of new opportunities with the rise of digital marketing. Think of email newsletters, blog posts, landing pages, ads, etc. Also, to reach out to potential audience is much more direct than it was in the time of mailing post. However, this brings challenges, as  general public became more aware of being “sold” and is more immune to “one-time limited offers”. Also, fake gurus  digital marketing brought sort of distrust into the copywriting or affiliate marketing. On the other hand, I believe that honest, caring and skilled copywriters, will always have a place, regardless of the pace.

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, many businesses and individuals use AI for their meta descriptions already, but there are also many who do it manually. However, this is one of the parts where AI automated tools can be used, indeed. To answer your question, I am not 100% sure if there is certain software which can recognise if AI was used in certain text. However, when you will become more experienced, you could spot difference. At the same time, if the content is valuable, is it bad that content creator uses AI? The entire Artificial Intelligence is still new in copywriting or content marketing. So, the time will show until which area it can help us. 

If you think about it though many of these tasks regarding meta data, keywords and other easily identifiable elements of typical content have been moved to automated AI manipulation for a long time now. Even in a search engine optimization strategy, no one writes their own tags anymore, the hosting program does it all for you.

I am curious though as you say people will not read actual content that is created via AI but are there technologies currently available that can identify the content as AI created?

Hey there, thanks for sharing your insights. Understanding of your audience, is at the same time, the most important, yet the most difficult task above all. Not only in copywriting, but also in affiliate marketing, content marketing, and so on…once understood, you as a content creator, and your words, have a huge power. Headlines, and leads are the most “visible” place of single online content where copywriting can be used. Apart from those, you should be able write compelling cta’s. As for bloggers, those are the 3 areas where I suggest people spend their time to learn copywriting. I am happy you liked my post and I hope it helped you. Hey Tom. Writing using own experience is definitely helpful. I am using the majority of the copywriting principles as well. The thing is many content writers forget, that the while content is the king, they need to write with intent. An informative post, in form of “how to” tutorial, would have been written with different intent as let’s say product review. So, the structure, tone and content would be different. And that’s the place where copywriting can help. I hope you can use some of the principles in your own writing. Cheers

I find that if you tell the truth in your content and you do your best to use personal experiences on the topic you are talking about, then you won't have a problem in creating and copywrtitng.
